"Aurora-A regulates molecules and substrates during mitosis, and it influences molecules and signals involved in tumor biological processes, such as proliferation, migration, invasion, metastasis, tumorigenesis, and apoptosis Aurora-A is an oncogene whose overexpression drives cancer by disrupting normal cell division, increasing genomic instability, activating cell survival pathways, and promoting cancer stem cells (CSCs) and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Future therapeutics focus on inhibiting Aurora-A, using small-molecule inhibitors in clinical trials, and exploring synthetic lethality by targeting Aurora-A in combination with other vulnerabilities in cancer cells.
