"This study looks at a newer approach by using a compound called bexarotene, which may help reduce inflammation. We are also interested in how this drug might work together with the gut microbiome — the helpful bacteria that live in the digestive system and play a role in immunity and inflammation. To study this, we use a rat model of RA, where arthritis is caused using a standard substance called Complete Freund’s Adjuvant. Some rats are treated with methotrexate, while others receive bexarotene, and we observe the effects on joint inflammation, gut health, and immune markers. Our goal is to
