In urology, lasers are used to treat kidney and bladder stones through lithotripsy to break them into small fragments, manage benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) by vaporizing or enucleating excess prostate tissue, and perform ablation and incisions for tumors, strictures, and other urologic lesions.
