نبذة مختصرة
A Pap smear's primary role in early detection is to find precancerous or cancerous cells in the cervix before a woman has symptoms, allowing for treatment when the disease is most curable and easier to manage. It works by collecting cells from the cervix that are then examined for abnormalities, which can be caused by HPV, a leading cause of cervical cancer. This screening tool is a key part of preventing cervical cancer from progressing to a more advanced and dangerous stage.
