نبذة مختصرة
The digestive system, comprising the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and accessory organs, is the primary route for drug administration and absorption. For pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists, understanding its anatomy—from the mouth to the anus—is essential for predicting drug bioavailability, understanding drug-food interactions, and optimizing drug delivery systems. The GI tract is a 9-meter long muscular tube where food is broken down mechanically and chemically, nutrients are absorbed, and waste is excreted.
