نبذة مختصرة
Heavy elements, particularly heavy metals like lead, mercury, cadmium, and arsenic, pose significant risks to human health by inducing oxidative stress, damaging DNA, and inhibiting enzyme activity. These toxins, which accumulate in the body and food chain, can cause serious conditions, including cancer, neurotoxicity, renal dysfunction, and infertility .
Management and TreatmentTreatment for severe poisoning may include chelation therapy, which uses specialized medicines to bind and remove metals from the body. Preventive measures, such as avoiding tobacco, ensuring proper ventilation, and reducing consumption of contaminated products, are crucial for mitigating risk.
