The ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) is the gold standard in radiation safety. It dictates that occupational and public radiation exposure must be kept as far below regulatory limits as practical, balancing safety against societal and economic factors, while still achieving the desired diagnostic or therapeutic outcome
