Nosocomial infections, or healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), are contracted during a hospital or clinical stay and manifest at least 48 hours after admission. They primarily spread via contaminated surfaces, medical devices, or staff. The most common types include surgical site infections, catheter-associated UTIs, and bloodstream infections
