Adiponectin gene is the most abundant human adipose-specific protein Adipokines, particularly Adiponectin therefore has important roles in breast cancer biology. Polymorphisms of ADIPOQ have been associated with the risk for cancers, probably by affecting adiponectin plasma levels.
