Akkermansia muciniphila, a bacterium found in the human gut microbiome, has shown potential as a target for cancer therapy, particularly in enhancing the effectiveness of cancer immunotherapy. Akkermansia muciniphila helps modulate the immune system by enhancing the production of immune cells and cytokines, which are essential for an effective anti-tumor response.
